1. Agreement to Legal Terms
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) are a legal agreement between you (“you,” “your”) and Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services concerning your access to and use of our websites, portals, donation pages, training registration systems, and related online platforms (collectively, the “Site”).
By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms, as well as our Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices (HIPAA)
If you do not agree, please stop using the Site immediately.
We may update these Terms periodically by posting a revised version and changing the “Effective Date” above. Continuing to use the Site after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
2. About Didi Hirsch and Scope of Services
Since 1942, Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services has provided compassionate, whole-person mental-health, substance-use, and suicide-prevention services to communities across California and beyond.
We operate accredited programs that include clinical care, community education, training, and public-health outreach.
This Site provides information about our programs, donation opportunities, events, trainings, employment and volunteer openings, and community resources.
Online engagement may include:
- Submitting contact or referral forms
- Registering for educational events or webinars
- Donating to support our mission
- Requesting media, partnership, or training information
The Site is intended for informational and educational purposes. It does not replace or provide individualized medical, psychiatric, or psychological advice.
3. No Clinical or Emergency Advice
The content on this Site should never be used for diagnosis or treatment of any mental-health or medical condition.
If you are in crisis or believe you may be at risk of harm, please contact 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or dial 911 immediately.
If you are outside the United States, reach out to your local emergency services.
Do not share confidential or time-sensitive health information through open contact forms or email. Only designated secure systems should be used for patient communication.
4. Eligibility, Access, and Acceptable Use
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site.
If you are under 18, you should review these Terms with a parent or guardian.
You agree to use the Site responsibly and in compliance with all applicable laws.
You must not:
- Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or malicious code;
- Misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
- Submit or publicly post any Protected Health Information (PHI);
- Use the Site to harass, defame, or threaten others; or
- Attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to our systems.
We may restrict or terminate access to the Site for any user violating these Terms or engaging in conduct we consider harmful or unlawful.
5. Health Information and HIPAA Compliance
When you contact or receive services from Didi Hirsch, the information you provide may become Protected Health Information (PHI) under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and related California laws.
PHI includes information that identifies you and relates to your health, treatment, or payment for services.
PHI is governed by our Notice of Privacy Practices, which describes how we use and disclose health information.
This Site itself is not a clinical portal. Information entered here for general inquiries is treated as confidential personal data but not as PHI until formally entered into our clinical systems.
For substance-use disorder information, we may also comply with 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements.

6. Community and Responsible Use
Didi Hirsch fosters an environment rooted in dignity, cultural humility, inclusion, and trauma-informed communication.
By using the Site, you agree not to post or transmit content that is discriminatory, stigmatizing, or inconsistent with our values of respect and equity.
We may moderate or remove comments that promote hate speech, misinformation, or personal attacks.
We are committed to ensuring that digital spaces reflect the same safety and compassion as our in-person programs.
7. Intellectual Property Rights
All materials on the Site, including text, graphics, photographs, logos, designs, video, and software, are the property of Didi Hirsch or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark laws.
You may download or print content for personal, educational, or non-commercial use only, provided that all copyright notices remain intact.

Names, logos, and service marks of Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services may not be used without authorization.
8. User Submissions and Feedback
If you voluntarily submit information, testimonials, or feedback (“Submissions”), you grant Didi Hirsch a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, reproduce, and display that material for program improvement, communications, or training purposes.
We may edit or remove Submissions at our discretion.
Do not include any PHI, confidential clinical data, or proprietary material in your submissions.
9. Donations and Payments
A. Charitable Status
Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations are tax-deductible as allowed by law.
B. Processing
Online donations are processed securely through third-party providers (e.g., Blackbaud, Stripe, PayPal).
Those vendors’ terms and privacy policies apply to each transaction. We do not store full credit-card numbers, CVV codes, or banking information on our servers.
C. Recurring Gifts and Refunds
Recurring gifts will continue until canceled. You may cancel or update your donation by emailing [email protected]
Donations are non-refundable except for duplicate or erroneous transactions, which will be corrected promptly upon request.
D. Data Security
Payment information is encrypted via SSL technology. Donor data is stored in secure, access-controlled systems.
10. Program Registrations and Educational Materials
If you register for trainings, webinars, or events hosted by Didi Hirsch:
Registration may be processed through external vendors (e.g., Eventbrite, Zoom, Blackbaud). Their policies apply.
We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule events and will notify registrants accordingly.
Training content, slides, and recordings remain the intellectual property of Didi Hirsch unless otherwise stated.
Participants may not reproduce or distribute materials without permission.
We may record trainings for internal or educational use; participation constitutes consent to such recording unless otherwise specified.
11. Children and Youth Privacy
The Site is not intended for children under 13 years old.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors online without parental or guardian consent.
Youth services offered by Didi Hirsch are governed by additional privacy protections under state and federal law.
12. Mobile Messaging and Text Programs
By opting in to receive text messages, you consent to receive communications from Didi Hirsch for appointment reminders, event updates, or informational purposes.
Message frequency varies; message/data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to cancel or HELP for help or follow the instructions given in the text message.
Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Your number will not be shared with other organizations for marketing, we may however use third-parties to facilitate such messages.
13. Third-Party Links, Tools, and Widgets
Our Site may contain links to other websites, donation processors, or social-media integrations.
These are provided for convenience only and do not signify endorsement.
We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of third-party sites.
Pages protected by Google reCAPTCHA are subject to the Google Privacy Policy and Terms of Service
14. Accessibility and Digital Inclusion
Didi Hirsch is committed to accessibility and digital equity.
We design and test our online platforms to meet or exceed WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

15. Service Availability and Security
We make reasonable efforts to maintain continuous, secure access to the Site.
However, we do not guarantee uninterrupted service or error-free operation.

We monitor systems for unauthorized access attempts and maintain firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection consistent with industry standards.

21. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Site shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of Los Angeles County, California, unless otherwise required by law.
Before initiating legal action, we encourage you to contact us to seek an informal resolution.
If arbitration is used, it will follow the American Arbitration Association (AAA) Consumer Rules, and hearings will occur in Los Angeles County or virtually.
Nothing in this section waives your right to bring concerns to government regulators or limits rights under applicable nonprofit or healthcare laws.
22. Termination and Modification
We may terminate, restrict, or suspend your access to the Site at any time for any reason, including violation of these Terms or applicable law.
We may also modify or discontinue any feature, service, or content without notice.
23. Severability and Entire Agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full effect.
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Notice of Privacy Practices, constitute the entire agreement between you and Didi Hirsch regarding the Site.
