Wildfire recovery counseling & support

Natural disasters affect people in ways that aren’t always visible.

At Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, we specialize in supporting people through the emotional and psychological impacts of crises, including wildfires and other natural disasters. We know that disaster recovery can be complex and deeply emotional, and that no one should have to face it alone. As experts in crisis mental health, we’re committed to walking alongside individuals at all stages of their recovery journey, whether you were displaced, supported others, or are still feeling the emotional toll of the wildfires.

We’re proud to partner with FEMA Disaster Recovery Centers, Emergency Network Los Angeles (ENLA), and local relief efforts to offer immediate and long-term mental health care, including therapy, support groups, and trauma-informed services tailored to your needs.

If you have personally been impacted by the SoCal Wildfires and are interested in recovery counseling or mental health services, please fill out the interest form below or call us at (424) 362-2935.

Free mental health services

Didi Hirsch provides a broad range of services designed to support individuals and communities impacted by the Los Angeles Wildfires. No matter where you are on your journey, or how you were impacted, Didi Hirsch is here for you.

Trauma-Informed Therapy

Anyone impacted by the wildfires (including first responders) can sign up for six free sessions with one of our highly trained therapists. This can include people who were displaced, lost their job, are supporting others (family, students, relief workers) who were directly impacted, and more. Services are available for children and adults and will support emotional recovery from the fires and building coping skills.

Community Events and Wellness Workshops

We offer in-person wellness events that bring survivors together for connection, healing, and peer support, as well as online workshops focused on emotional wellbeing. Our goal is to reduce isolation, provide accessible mental health education, and foster hope—supporting recovery not just in the immediate aftermath of disaster, but in the months and years that follow.

Support and Drop-In Groups

Didi Hirsch can customize support groups to the needs of various communities and partner organizations.

Community Partnerships

Didi Hirsch is available to partner with other agencies responding to the wildfires to design custom training and support resources.

Didi Hirsch provides a broad range of ongoing mental health, substance use, and suicide prevention services. If you need ongoing mental health services, we will link you with one of our many programs where possible. Services are covered by Medi-Cal and many private insurance plans.

Onsite crisis response

Our crisis counselors and clinicians are providing emotional support and practical assistance in person at disaster recovery centers and events to help individuals feel safe, connected, and supported in the aftermath of the disaster. No appointment is needed.
