More than half of people living with a mental illness also experience a substance use disorder. At Didi Hirsch, we provide integrated services that address both challenges together, because lasting recovery starts with whole-person care.
All of our outpatient substance use programs are certified by the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). Our residential treatment facility is both licensed and certified by the state.
To view our current certifications and licenses, visit the DHCS website.
This program seeks to prevent alcohol and drug related problems in youth up to age 25 through a broad range of public education, skill-building, mentorship, and community intervention activities. We accomplish our prevention goals by focusing on increasing individual, family and community resilience.
At Didi Hirsch, our harm reduction services are rooted in compassion and respect, ensuring that everyone has access to care no matter where they are in their recovery journey. We partner with individuals to reduce the health and social impacts of substance use, offering support like Medication for Addiction Treatment (MAT), overdose prevention education, safer use strategies, therapy, mental health care, and housing connections. Whether someone is seeking to reduce use or ready to pursue treatment, we meet them where they are and help them move forward.
We operate a Client Engagement and Navigation Services (CENS) team to help people get connected to care. Through CENS, qualified individuals can be assessed for drug and alcohol treatment, assisted with benefits, and referred to other community resources.
At Via Avanta, women can receive residential treatment while living with their young children. The program supports women facing mental health and substance use challenges with up to six months of care in a safe, communal setting, offering parenting support, health services, and help with employment readiness.
Didi Hirsch is proud to be part of the Project 50 team, supporting some of the most vulnerable unhoused individuals in downtown Los Angeles. This county-funded program provides permanent housing along with coordinated services like medical care, mental health support, and case management. While we contribute mental health services, we do not manage admissions or referrals to the program.
