Help through life’s changes
Navigating the path from adolescence to adulthood comes with unique challenges. Whether it’s stress, mental health concerns, or the risk of substance use, Didi Hirsch provides specialized programs designed to meet teens and young adults where they are.
A supportive place to belong
Our Third Place is a wellness center for youth ages 15–25. It offers drop-in services, peer support, creative workshops, leadership opportunities, and mental health resources—all in an inclusive, identity-affirming space. Young people can connect with others, express themselves freely, and build the confidence and skills they need to move forward.
Helping youth avoid substance use
Our substance use prevention services provide early help for teens and young adults who are using—or at risk of using—alcohol or drugs. Services include education, mentorship, family counseling, and screening, with referrals to additional care as needed. We also provide community-based education and outreach to help prevent substance use before it starts.
Confidential support from teen listeners
Sometimes it feels easier to talk with someone your own age who truly understands. Through Teen Line, highly trained teen volunteers provide confidential support by phone, text, and email. Whether you’re dealing with stress, relationships, identity, or mental health challenges, Teen Line is a safe place to be heard and find resources.
Finding connection after loss
Losing someone to suicide can feel isolating, but you don’t have to face it alone. The Teen Survivors After Suicide (Teen SAS) group provides a safe, supportive space where teens can share their experiences, connect with peers who understand, and begin to heal together.
Support for young parents and families
Our Enhanced Care Management Birth Equity Program helps pregnant and postpartum youth and young adults access the care and resources they need for a healthier future. From personalized care coordination to community support, this program is designed to reduce health disparities and build stronger beginnings for families.
You do not need parent permission to call or text Teen Line. It’s a confidential, peer‑run hotline for youth (ages 15–19) available every evening. For outpatient therapy, teens aged 12+ in California can legally consent to services, though we encourage family support.
Teen Line is a peer‑to‑peer hotline (call or text 800‑852‑8336, 6–10 PM PST) staffed by trained teen volunteers under adult supervision. It provides emotional support. Therapy involves professional, clinical care with licensed providers, personalized treatment plans, and ongoing sessions.
Yes. We offer substance use prevention services for ages up to 25, including mentoring and screening, and connect teens in crisis to 988 and Teen Line crisis support.
Through For Youth by Youth and peer advocate programs, we partner with schools to bring mental health resources to campus. Ask your school counselor or call our intake line (888‑807‑7250) to find out if we’re at your school.
Services for teens and young adults are primarily available in English and Spanish. Depending on the program and location, additional language support may be available through bilingual staff or interpreters. If you or someone you know needs support in another language, let us know—we’ll do our best to connect you with appropriate resources.
Teen Line is completely free. Other teen and young adult services may be covered by insurance, grants, or offered at sliding‑scale fees. We’ll work with you during intake to clarify any costs.
