A Safe Space Where Teens Support Teens

About Teen Line

Teen Line is a safe, confidential, and judgment-free space where teens can turn to other teens for support. Through our hotline, texts, and emails, youth connect with trained teen volunteers who truly understand what it’s like to navigate the ups and downs of adolescence. Every interaction is supervised by adult mental health professionals to ensure safety and support. In addition to our peer support services, we offer outreach programs that educate and empower schools and youth organizations across the country.

Our mission

Teen Line provides support, resources, and hope to young people through a peer-based crisis line operated by trained teen counselors. We work to de-stigmatize mental health and promote open conversations through education and outreach.

Our vision

We envision a world where no teen feels alone. A world where every young person has access to the support and resources they need to feel heard, seen, and safe.

Who are our volunteers?

Our teen volunteers—called “Listeners”—are high school students from Los Angeles who volunteer their time to support peers around the globe. Before taking a single call or message, each Listener completes over 100 hours of professional training. This includes instruction in active listening, crisis de-escalation, and mental health topics, plus practice in real-world scenarios.

Teen Line Listeners are supported by licensed clinicians and trained staff every step of the way.
