The vast majority of people contemplating suicide (80%) show warning signs. They encounter many people who could help them—if they knew the signs. The Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center offers several trainings in suicide prevention and treatment. The length of trainings and costs vary. *Survivors of Suicide Attempts Facilitator Training (2 days)

This two-day training prepares those interested in developing and facilitating the Survivors of Suicide Attempts support group. Participants acquire knowledge of how to implement and manage this support group, safety issues, resources and helpful tools. To download our Best Practices Manual, CLICK HERE.

*ASIST  (2 days)

The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) program provides practical suicide intervention training for caregivers seeking to prevent the immediate risk of suicide.

Adult Presentations (1 hour)

This short presentation provides an overview to suicide prevention. Participants learn about the nature of suicide, suicide-related statistics, suicide risk factors and warning signs.

Adolescent Presentations (1 hour)

This overview of suicide prevention is tailored for students. Participants learn about the nature of suicide, suicide-related statistics, risk factors and warning signs of suicide. The overview also covers how stress, depression and suicide are connected.

Clinical Presentations (2-3 hours)

This training provides an in-depth view of suicide prevention from a clinical perspective. Risk assessment, how to manage a suicidal person and information on available resources for intervention and postvention are covered.

First Responders (2-4 hours)

This specialized training provides an overview of suicide prevention for law enforcement and FBI. Participants learn about the nature of suicide, suicide-related statistics, depression and suicide, Law Enforcement Officer and military statistics, risk factors and warning signs.

Medical Presentations (1 hour)

This training provides an in-depth view of suicide prevention from a medical perspective. Risk assessment, how to manage and suicidal person and information on available resources for intervention and postvention are covered.

SafeTALK (3 hours)

This training prepares participants to identify people with thoughts of suicide and teaches how to connect them to suicide first aid resources.
