Suicide Prevention Training: Orange County

Didi Hirsch’s Survivor Support Services Suicide Program in Orange County provides trainings to a wide range of community organizations, schools, universities, businesses, and others. We service all Orange county at no cost, as long as they are Orange County residents and/or agencies. We can provide our training services virtually and in person. Our trainers, including bilingual Spanish, are clinical and non-clinical experts. Our evidence-based content fosters inclusive, culturally responsive suicide prevention training and whole person care. Additionally to our training services, we provide outreach services. This may include informational tables, program material drop offs, etc.

Trainings Offered​

Adult Presentation (1.5 Hours)

This training provides an overview of suicide prevention and intervention. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of suicide through statistics, the relation to mental health and stressors, warning signs(also known as invitations), risk and protective factors, and basic intervention steps. This training is available in additional various languages: Spanish, Arabic, Korean, and Vietnamese.

Adolescent Presentation (45 Minutes to 1 Hour)

This training provides an overview of suicide prevention for adolescents. Participants learn about the nature of suicide through statistics, its relation to mental health and stressors; warning signs(also known as invitations), risk and protective factors, and how to support themselves and others. A version of this training for adults is also available.

Clinical Presentation (3 Hours)

This training provides an in-depth view of suicide prevention and intervention from a clinical perspective. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of suicide and learn how to support a suicidal person through risk assessment, safety planning, and aftercare. A version of this training focused on youth is also available.

Services Presentations: (15 to 45 Minutes)

These presentations provide an overview of the services that the Didi Hirsch Survivor Support Services program offers. A special 9-8-8 focused presentation gives a more in-depth overview of our 9-8-8 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline program.
