Sarah Wilkey, LMFT, is a Therapist II with Didi Hirsch’s Suicide Support Services, where she provides specialized mental health therapy and suicide prevention support for individuals, families, and communities in Orange County.
Since joining Didi Hirsch in 2017, Sarah has worked extensively with individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, self-harm, and suicide loss. She provides individual, family, and group therapy, as well as support for caregivers whose loved ones may be at risk for suicide. Sarah also has specialized experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals and co-facilitated Didi Hirsch’s first Survivors of Suicide Attempts support group specifically for LGBTQ+ participants.
In addition to clinical care, Sarah facilitates suicide loss debriefings and provides community education trainings that help individuals recognize warning signs of suicide and respond effectively during a mental health crisis.
Sarah is trained in several evidence-based suicide prevention practices, including Cognitive Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CT-SP), SAFETY-A and SAFETY-B interventions for youth, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST). In 2024, she presented at the American Association of Suicidology Conference on the impact of Didi Hirsch’s Survivors of Suicide Attempts support group.
Sarah approaches her work with empathy, collaboration, and respect, helping clients find hope, healing, and connection during difficult moments.
