Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center Training and Outreach-Los Angeles provides trainings to a wide range of community organizations, schools, universities, businesses, and others. We service all Los Angeles counties, and our virtual (live) workshops reach local, national and global audiences. Our trainers, including bilingual Spanish, are clinical and non-clinical experts. Our evidence-based content fosters inclusive, culturally responsive suicide prevention training and whole person care.

This training provides an overview of suicide prevention and intervention. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of suicide through statistics, the relation to mental health and stressors, warning signs, risk and protective factors, and basic intervention steps.
This training provides an overview of suicide prevention for adolescents. Participants learn about the nature of suicide through statistics, its relation to mental health and stressors; warning signs, risk and protective factors, and how to support themselves and others. A version of this training for adults is also available.
This training provides an in-depth view of suicide prevention and intervention from a clinical perspective. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of suicide and learn how to support a suicidal person through risk assessment, safety planning, and aftercare. A version of this training focused on youth is also available.
This advanced training provides clinicians with an in-depth, applied experience, which meets the requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS) and Board of Psychology. 6 hours of CEUs will be provided.
This 2-day training prepares those interested in developing and facilitating the Survivors of Suicide Attempts support group. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of suicide and learn how to support a suicidal person through risk assessment, safety planning, aftercare, and connection to available community resources.
This training provides an overview of suicide prevention, intervention and crisis de-escalation tactics for law enforcement and other first responders. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of suicide and learn how to support a person in crisis through suicide risk/safety assessment and crisis intervention.
The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) program is a standardized workshop for healthcare workers, caregivers, and anyone 16 years or older, regardless of professional background, that teaches participants how to assist those at risk for suicidal thinking, behavior, and attempts.
This standardized, interactive gatekeeper workshop prepares participants to be ‘suicide-alert’ by recognizing signs, engaging a person with thoughts of suicide, and connecting them to suicide first aid resources.
These presentations provide an overview of the services that the Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center offers, and ways to connect to those services. A special 9-8-8 focused presentation gives a more in-depth overview of our 9-8-8 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline program.
