Executive Coach and Author Libby Gill Joins Board of Directors of Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services

November 13, 2019

Culver City, Calif. — Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services is proud to announce that Libby Gill, an executive coach and award-winning author who helps leaders reframe change as an opportunity for growth, has joined its Board of Directors.

Gill has spoken about hope-driven leadership around the globe and has delivered keynote presentations for multiple corporations, including Bank of America, Honda, Kellogg’s, Marriott International and Caribbean Cruise Lines.

“Libby’s professional work is all about transforming lives, which is part of Didi Hirsch’s mission,” says Board Chair Christopher J. Harrer. “Her passion for mental health advocacy, along with her background in communications and executive coaching, are already making a significant contribution to Didi Hirsch and its Board of Directors.“

Her lifelong interest in mental health advocacy stems from a family history of mental illness and suicide. Her stepmother suffered from chronic depression and died by suicide; her brother, a retired college professor, lives with schizophrenia. She is especially passionate about helping young adults cope with mental health challenges.

“While young adults tend to disclose more about their mental health challenges than previous generations, stigma continues to show up for them at the work place and elsewhere,” says Gill. “I’m proud to serve on the Board of an organization that cares about erasing the stigma of mental illness and provides real help and support to young adults so they can get the therapy and medication they need to thrive.”

A former head of communications for media giants Sony, Universal and Turner Broadcast, she has an extensive background in publicity, advertising and promotion. She was a columnist for The Dallas Morning News and has written five books, including the award-winning You Unstuck and Capture the Mindshare and the Market Share Will Follow. Her most recent book is The Hope-Driven Leader: Harness the Power of Positivity at Work. She also has a blog, libbygill.com.

She is a frequent media guest who has appeared on the CBS Early Show, CNN, Inside Edition, NPR, the Today Show, and has been quoted in many national publications including BusinessWeek, Time, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal.

She lives with her husband in Los Angeles and has two millennial-aged sons.
