Gifts of Stock

Didi Hirsch welcomes and encourages gifts of Stock, transfers of Stock, including closely held business Stock. A gift of stock combines your charitable intent with tax benefits.

Benefits:

• You receive a federal income-tax deduction for the full fair-market value of the stock
• You avoid long-term capital-gain tax on any appreciation in the value of the stock
• Your gift will support Didi Hirsch as you designate

How it works

1. You can send unendorsed stock certificates by registered mail or instruct your broker to make the transfer from your account to our account.
2. You will receive an income-tax deduction.
3. Didi Hirsch may keep or sell the securities.

For gifts of Mutual Funds:

Please send a Letter of Instruction that includes the following:

• Identifying mutual funds as gift
• CUSIPs of the mutual funds
• Share amount
• Name of the funds
• NTSI account number
• Delivering firm name and account number
• Contact name and phone number at the contra

Please send to Kristin Dworkoski (kdworkoski@didihirsch.org) detailing where you want the contribution allocated (e.g. Suicide Prevention Center Capital Campaign, Unrestricted, etc.) prior to your stock transfer.
