Events

In the spirit of growth and evolution, we’ve decided to embark on an exciting journey of reimagining our event schedule. After 27 incredible years of hosting our annual gala event in the spring, we have chosen to take a pause.

This decision was made with careful consideration and input from our cherished donor community, as we strive to ensure that our events continue to reflect our values and vision.

While our gala has been a cornerstone for eradicating mental health stigma and celebrating inspiring stories, we are thrilled to announce a new chapter focused on building even deeper connections with our generous supporters through more regular updates about our impact as well as new and smaller events and opportunities to connect with Didi Hirsch. We are endlessly thankful to our generous community for their unwavering support!

Our event history:

Alive Together

Alive Together 2024 will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024. The event is moving to the UCLA Campus in Westwood this year and 5K walk/run.

Please mark your calendars! Registration will open in June.

Join us as we raise funds for our Suicide Prevention Center, come together and provide support and resources as well as a space for survivors, their friends and family, to honor their loved ones lost to suicide.

Mental Health Heroes

Mental Health Heroes builds on the incredible legacy of our decades-long running Erasing the Stigma Leadership Awards. At this spring gala, we highlight and honor heroes who are making a positive and measurable impact in our community, who use their voices and platforms to bring hope, healing and mental health care access to more people in need.

Alive and Running 5K for Suicide Prevention

For over 20 years, Alive & Running was an uplifting, life-affirming event that remembers loved ones lost to suicide while raising funds and awareness for the Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center. Our 22nd Alive & Running 5K for Suicide Prevention in September 2020 was a virtual event that raised $448,000 for our lifesaving suicide prevention services.

Erasing the Stigma Awards

Over 25 years ago, Didi Hirsch launched a movement to erase the stigma of mental illness by hosting an annual event that recognized those with the courage to speak about their personal mental health challenges. Today, people of all ages, backgrounds and experiences talk openly about mental health – demonstrating the great strides made to erase the interpersonal stigma of mental illness. The Erasing the Stigma Awards were held annually from 1997-2020.
