At our Orange County clinic, the team built our first-ever Día de los Muertos ofrenda to honor clients’ loved ones and create a space for healing. Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, is a cherished Mexican tradition that celebrates the lives of those who have passed.

This vibrant holiday brings family and friends together to remember loved ones with joy, as it is believed their spirits return to visit. Our clients, many of whom have experienced the loss of loved ones to suicide, found comfort in adding photos and mementos to the altar, creating a meaningful tribute to those they carry in their hearts.

This ofrenda represents the culturally sensitive and compassionate care for clients of all backgrounds. For those who have experienced suicide loss, Día de los Muertos offers a unique and healing way to honor their family members, process grief, and connect with others who understand. The tradition fosters a sense of community and support, encouraging clients to find strength in honoring and celebrating the lives of their loved ones.
