
Didi Hirsch Receives Prestigious Award
Didi Hirsch received the American Association of Suicidology’s inaugural Crisis Residential Unit Excellence Award at the national organization’s virtual conference on Sunday, 4/17.
“Everybody that works in crisis services and suicide prevention know of Didi Hirsch and the really, really rich history they have,” said Becky Stoll, Vice President of Crisis & Disaster Management for American Association of Suicidology. “They pride themselves on having a really home-like environment where their clients are guests and are treated with dignity and given this real sense of responsibility to help folks find hope and wellness.”
Elan Javanfard, Division Director of Residential and Substance Use Services accepted the award on behalf of Didi Hirsch: “We’re humbled and we’re honored to receive this award,” he said. “I definitely want to take a moment to acknowledge the staff that are working in the residential units as we speak right now…This crisis has really helped shine a light on crisis residential services and we’re hoping that with these awards being given out there will be continued recognition and acknowledgment to help expand crisis services throughout the United States and to help keep people safe, keep people housed and provide them with all the support they need.”
