Myrna knew the pain of losing someone to suicide after her husband took his life. It’s a grief that doesn’t end, it just changes shape. Yet Myrna chose to keep reaching outward. Moved by her loss, she became a devoted supporter of Didi Hirsch and our Suicide Prevention Center for more than 10 years before she passed, ensuring others would receive the help they needed.
She dedicated her life to service and uplifting others. As a dedicated fourth-grade teacher for forty years, Myrna poured herself into her students.
In retirement, she volunteered weekly at the VA, supporting programs for disabled and struggling veterans. She always found ways to give back with joy, kindness, and from the heart.
When Myrna passed in 2022, she not only left a significant gift from her estate, she left behind an annuity that sustains our mission through 2031. Her generosity, shaped by her own loss, creates a foundation of hope for countless others.
Gifts like hers go beyond financial support—it’s an enduring act of care. They carry forward a person’s deepest values, helping others long after they’re gone. She’s created a path forward for others when they need it most, in honor of her husband and in her memory.
