Rudolph I. Estrada is chief executive officer of Estradagy Business Advisors, Lead Director of East West Bank, an adjunct professor of Business and Management at California State University, Channel Islands, and Executive Director of the university’s Small Business Institute. He also serves on several corporate and public boards of directors.

He served on the Didi Hirsch Board of Directors from 2003-2008 and rejoined in 2015. His longstanding interest in mental health advocacy was inspired by his own experience with depression and the suicide of his younger brother in 1982.

Before his banking career, Estrada served as District Director for the United States Small Business Administration and was a Presidential appointee to the White House Commission on Small Business and again to the White House Fellows Commission.  

Estrada is a decorated veteran, having served with Military Intelligence and Operations with the United States Army in 1969-70. A native of Los Angeles, Estrada is fluent in Spanish, Korean and some Chinese.

Estrada earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the California State University at Los Angeles and a master’s degree in finance and management from the University of Southern California. He completed coursework toward a doctorate in strategic financial management at Claremont Graduate University, Peter F. Drucker—School of Management.

He and his wife, Irene, have three grown children and split their time between San Marino and Pacific Grove, California.
