Christopher J. Harrer
Christopher Harrer is Vice President and Senior Wealth Strategist at Northern Trust. Based in Los Angeles, Chris serves as a primary trusted advisor to high-net-worth families offering investment management, trust, estate, succession planning direction as well as private and business banking.
Harrer, who joined Didi Hirsch’s Board of Directors in 2014, has a lifelong connection to the agency. His mother, Patricia Harrer, served on the Board for 20 years before she died in 2004. She was close friend of Didi Hirsch, the social worker and benefactor for whom the agency was named.
An accomplished entrepreneur in the hospitality and information management industries, Harrer founded United Document Storage LLC (UDS), which operates off-site document storage, shredding and other services. Harrer was President and Chief Executive Officer of UDS before he sold it in 2012. He is also the founder and former President and Chief Executive Officer of PCH Ventures LLC and Pacifico’s LLC, real estate and restaurant holding companies that he sold to investors in 2004.
Harrer, who earned an MBA and an MSBA from USC and has a BBA degree from Loyola Marymount University, chairs Didi Hirsch’s financial resources committee. He has served on several boards of directors for USC and was a past president of the Bel-Air Bay Club in Pacific Palisades. He also volunteers for the Adopt-a-Family Program, Union Rescue Mission and Homeboy Industries. A winner of the Golden Apple Teaching Award in 2005, Harrer lives in Malibu and has four children.
