Betsy H. Breen
Betsy H. Breen, a passionate mental health advocate for children, teens and young adults, joined the Board of Directors of Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services in 2015.
The mother of triplets who are now in college, Breen became interested in mental health advocacy when a family member began struggling with mental health challenges and her two daughters were “listeners” at TEEN LINE, the confidential teen-to-teen hotline housed at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center’s crisis counselors provide back up to TEEN LINE during the 20 hours a day that teen counselors are not available.
An engaged member of her community, Breen served on TEEN LINE’s Board of Directors for several years and was an active volunteer at the Buckley School, the K-12 school her children attended. She also served as Advancement Chair for her son’s Boy Scout troop in Sherman Oaks.
Before her triplets were born, she worked as an executive at several nationally recognized advertising firms. She has over 20 years of experience in consumer marketing and strategic planning covering a broad range of products and services, including the health and beauty aide, automobile, petroleum and fast food industries.
Breen graduated cum laude and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Colgate University. She and her husband, Richard, live in Encino.
